One of our favourite sayings is "Never say never", but at the moment, there are no plans to add a forum to this site.

There are a number of reasons for this including:

1/ History.....especially in our region, as well as personal experience, suggests Forum equals (in no particular order):

Cliques
Division
Argument
Idle Gossip
Speculation
Not enough / too many boards
Bitterness
Much biting of tongues
Much late night posting whilst drunk and following day deletions and apologies (sometimes).
Poor moderation, thread hijacking, threads going off topic etc.

Yes....the old NE Escort forum was as guilty as anyone else, past and present, of some or all of the above (depending on your stance) at one point or another during it's life!

2/ Finding a "mug" with the 25 hours free time a day, the patience of a saint, the mediation skills of ACAS, skin as thick as an elephant & the technical skills of Einstein, to succesfully moderate and manage such a forum.

3/ The "important" information gets lost in amongst everything else there is to read through.

4/ There are only so many forums that people will bother joining, only to read the same or similar posts on, or to access particular sections they are required to be a member to see, or follow their favourite service provider(s) to find their news .  There is plenty of choice already out there (linked to on your left as you read this), if Forums are your thing. 

This site wishes to try and be different (as it did when it originally launched).  "No Forum" doesn't neccesarily equal "boring" and as time goes by, the site will grow and improve and give visitors and service providers other reasons to come here, rather than to just catch up on, or be part of, the local gossip of the day.

The hope of the new NE Escort site, is that without a forum and the baggage that running one carries, all the service providers in the region will feel able to contribute here and ultimately most, if not all the local industry news will be accesible in the one place.

There are a number of other fresh ideas on the back burner, to improve the NE Escort experience, for both for the visitor and the service providers who decide to support us, but we are certainly NOT out to see the demise of anyone else whilst doing so.
